Refund, Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy

Last Updated: [26-08-2026]

At Silverfin Scuba, we understand that plans can change. However, every booking requires advance planning, instructor allocation, equipment preparation, pool or dive-site arrangements, and, in some cases, payments to third-party service providers.

This Refund, Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy explains what happens when you cancel, postpone, or modify a booking made with Silverfin Scuba.

By making a booking, paying an advance, enrolling in a course, purchasing a service, or otherwise confirming your participation, you acknowledge and agree to the terms of this Policy.

If your particular situation is not specifically addressed below, please contact Silverfin Scuba as early as possible. We will review the circumstances and, where reasonably possible, try to find a fair solution.

1. Definitions

For this Policy:

“Silverfin Scuba,” “we,” “us,” or “our” means Silverfin Scuba and its authorised representatives, instructors, employees, staff, contractors, and service partners, as applicable.

“Customer,” “Participant,” “Guest,” or “you” means the person or persons making a booking, participating in an activity, enrolling in a course, or purchasing a service from Silverfin Scuba.

“Booking” means a confirmed reservation for any course, dive, experience, trip, event, accommodation, transportation arrangement, or other service offered or facilitated by Silverfin Scuba.

“Advance / Deposit” means an amount paid in advance to secure a booking.

“Experience Program” means introductory or non-certification activities such as Try Scuba, Discover Scuba, introductory pool sessions, and similar programs offered by Silverfin Scuba.

“Course” means any scuba diving training or certification program offered by Silverfin Scuba, including applicable SSI programs.

“Fun Dive” means recreational diving undertaken by a suitably certified diver outside a certification course.

“No-Show” means a participant who fails to attend a confirmed activity, course session, dive, meeting point, or departure without providing the required advance notice.

“Third-Party Service” means a service arranged or facilitated by Silverfin Scuba but provided by an independent business, such as accommodation, transportation, ferry services, resort stays, boat operators, or other external suppliers.

“Force Majeure” means circumstances outside the reasonable control of Silverfin Scuba, including severe weather, natural disasters, government restrictions, major transportation disruptions, civil emergencies, or other events that make the booked service impractical or unsafe to operate.

2. General Cancellation Principles

Cancellation charges are based primarily on the amount of notice received before the scheduled activity.

The closer a cancellation occurs to the activity date, the greater the likelihood that Silverfin Scuba will have already incurred non-recoverable costs or been unable to offer the booking to another customer.

Accordingly:

  • Cancellation requests should be submitted as early as possible.

  • The applicable cancellation period will generally be calculated from the date and time Silverfin Scuba receives the cancellation request.

  • Refund eligibility will be determined according to the category of service booked.

  • Amounts paid to third-party suppliers may be subject to the supplier's own cancellation terms.

  • Payment gateway charges, transaction charges, administrative fees, or other non-recoverable charges may be deducted where applicable and permitted by law.

  • A refund does not automatically apply simply because a participant is unable or unwilling to attend after the applicable cancellation deadline.

3. Fun Dives & Recreational Diving

This section applies to certified divers booking individual dives, multiple-dive packages, or recreational diving activities with Silverfin Scuba.

3.1 Cancellation of a Multi-Day Dive Booking

Unless a different cancellation condition has been communicated in writing at the time of booking:

Cancellation Notice Refund
21 days or more before the scheduled start 100% refund*
14–21 days before the scheduled start 50% refund*
Less than 14 days before the scheduled start No refund

* Subject to any non-refundable third-party charges, transaction costs, or other clearly communicated deductions applicable to the booking.

3.2 Cancellation of a Single-Day Dive

For individual or single-day recreational dives:

  • Cancellation more than 56 hours before the scheduled dive may qualify for a full refund, subject to applicable non-refundable charges.

  • Cancellation within 56 hours of the scheduled dive may be non-refundable.

  • A participant who does not attend without prior notice will generally be treated as a No-Show and will not be eligible for a refund.

  • Rescheduling may be considered where sufficient notice is provided and an alternative date is available.

  • Rescheduling is not guaranteed and may be subject to additional charges.

4. Scuba Diving Courses

This section applies to participants enrolled in scuba certification and training programs offered by Silverfin Scuba.

This includes applicable SSI programs, beginner courses, advanced training, specialty programs, professional-level training, and other structured diving courses.

Because course bookings involve instructor scheduling, digital or physical learning materials, equipment allocation, pool sessions, dive-site planning, and certification-related administration, different cancellation conditions may apply.

4.1 Cancellation Before Course Commencement

Unless otherwise stated in the specific course booking:

Cancellation Notice Refund
40 days or more before course commencement Eligible for refund, subject to deductions
20–40 days before commencement Up to 50% refund
Less than 20 days before commencement Generally non-refundable

Any course material, certification-related fee, administrative charge, or other amount that has already been incurred and cannot be recovered may be deducted from the refundable amount.

Where course materials have already been issued or activated, those materials may be non-refundable.

4.2 Cancellation After Course Commencement

Once a course has commenced, refunds will generally not be available for sessions, training days, course materials, instructor time, certification processing, or other services already provided.

Where a participant is unable to complete the course due to genuine circumstances, Silverfin Scuba may, at its discretion and subject to course requirements, offer:

  • A rescheduled training session;

  • Completion of outstanding training at a later date;

  • Transfer to another available course date; or

  • Another reasonable solution depending on the circumstances.

Any additional costs arising from such arrangements may be payable by the participant.

4.3 Missed Course Sessions

Participants are expected to attend all scheduled course sessions.

Missing a scheduled session without sufficient notice may result in:

  • Additional instructor or facility charges;

  • Rescheduling fees;

  • Delay in course completion; or

  • The requirement to repeat a particular training component.

Whether a missed session can be rescheduled will depend on instructor availability, course requirements, pool/dive-site availability, and certification standards.

5. Try Scuba & Experience Programs

This section applies to introductory diving activities, Try Scuba, Discover Scuba, introductory pool experiences, and other non-certification programs.

Cancellation Notice Refund
7 days or more before the activity 100% refund*
72 hours to 6 days before the activity 50% refund*
Less than 72 hours before the activity No refund

* Subject to any non-refundable transaction or third-party charges applicable to the booking.

No-Shows

If a participant does not attend a confirmed experience without providing the required notice, the booking will normally be treated as a No-Show and the amount paid will not be refundable.

This policy exists because instructor time, equipment, pool slots, and other resources may have been specifically reserved for the participant.

6. Dive Trips, Travel Packages & Accommodation

Where Silverfin Scuba arranges or facilitates dive trips, accommodation, transportation, resort stays, or other travel-related arrangements, the cancellation terms may differ from those applicable to activities conducted directly by Silverfin Scuba.

The cancellation conditions applicable to the specific booking will be communicated to the customer before or at the time of confirmation wherever reasonably possible.

Where a booking includes multiple suppliers, the refund will be determined by the individual cancellation policies of the relevant suppliers.

For example, accommodation, transportation, boat operators, and dive operators may each have separate cancellation deadlines.

7. Third-Party Services

Silverfin Scuba may facilitate bookings with independent third-party providers, including accommodation providers, transportation companies, resorts, boat operators, travel partners, or other service providers.

7.1 Third-Party Cancellation Terms

Where a service is provided by a third party:

  • The supplier's cancellation and refund terms may apply.

  • Silverfin Scuba will communicate applicable restrictions where reasonably possible.

  • Some third-party bookings may be completely non-refundable.

  • Any amount that the third-party provider retains may not be refundable to the customer.

  • Silverfin Scuba will, where reasonably possible, assist the customer in submitting a refund or cancellation request to the relevant provider.

However, Silverfin Scuba cannot guarantee that a third-party provider will approve a refund.

7.2 Third-Party Refunds

Where Silverfin Scuba has already paid a third-party supplier and the supplier does not return the relevant amount, Silverfin Scuba will generally not be able to refund that amount to the customer unless Silverfin Scuba independently agrees to do so.

Any refund actually received from the third-party provider will be passed on to the customer after applicable deductions.

8. Weather, Safety & Operational Cancellations

Safety is the primary consideration in all Silverfin Scuba diving activities.

Silverfin Scuba may postpone, modify, suspend, or cancel an activity where weather, water conditions, equipment availability, instructor availability, site conditions, government restrictions, or other operational circumstances make proceeding unsafe or impractical.

Where Silverfin Scuba cancels an activity for safety or operational reasons, the customer may be offered, depending on the circumstances:

  • Rescheduling to another available date;

  • A credit toward a future Silverfin Scuba activity; or

  • A refund in accordance with the applicable booking terms.

The specific remedy will depend on the nature of the booking and whether any third-party costs have already been incurred.

Silverfin Scuba's decision regarding whether diving conditions are safe and suitable shall be made by its qualified diving professionals based on the circumstances at the time.

9. Force Majeure

Silverfin Scuba cannot be held responsible for cancellations, delays, or changes caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control.

Such circumstances may include:

  • Severe weather;

  • Natural disasters;

  • Government restrictions;

  • Significant transportation disruptions;

  • Civil emergencies;

  • Closure of a dive site;

  • Unexpected safety restrictions;

  • Major infrastructure failures; or

  • Other circumstances that prevent the safe or practical operation of the booked service.

Where such an event affects a booking, Silverfin Scuba will make reasonable efforts to offer an alternative date, credit, or other appropriate solution.

Where a third-party supplier has retained funds, the amount recoverable by the customer may depend on the supplier's own policy.

10. No-Show Policy

A No-Show occurs when a customer fails to attend a confirmed activity without providing the required cancellation notice.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing:

  • No-Shows are generally non-refundable.

  • The full or applicable booking amount may be retained.

  • Any third-party charges already incurred may also be non-refundable.

  • Rescheduling may be offered at Silverfin Scuba's discretion and may involve additional charges.

Participants should contact Silverfin Scuba as soon as possible if they anticipate being late or unable to attend.

11. Rescheduling

Silverfin Scuba understands that customers may occasionally need to change their dates.

Where possible, we may permit a booking to be moved to another available date.

Rescheduling:

  • Is subject to availability;

  • May be subject to notice requirements;

  • May incur an administrative or price-difference charge;

  • Cannot be guaranteed during high-demand periods; and

  • May be subject to third-party supplier policies.

A request to reschedule received after the applicable cancellation deadline may be treated as a cancellation and new booking.

12. Refund Procedure

Customers requesting a cancellation or refund should contact Silverfin Scuba as soon as possible.

Please provide:

  • Full name;

  • Booking reference or order number;

  • Date of booking;

  • Name of the course, dive, experience, trip, or product;

  • Scheduled activity date;

  • Reason for cancellation; and

  • Relevant payment details or transaction reference, if requested.

Refund requests will be reviewed according to this Policy and the terms applicable to the specific booking.

Approved refunds will generally be processed within 7–15 business days after approval, although the time taken for the amount to appear in the customer's account may also depend on the payment provider or banking institution.

Where applicable, non-refundable payment gateway charges, transaction fees, bank charges, or third-party costs may be deducted from the refundable amount.

13. Special Promotional Offers

Promotional bookings, discounted packages, introductory offers, vouchers, gift cards, group offers, and special campaigns may have cancellation and refund conditions that differ from the standard policy.

The specific terms communicated with such an offer will apply where they differ from this general Policy.

14. Refunds for Unused Services

Where a customer voluntarily chooses not to use part of a confirmed package, course, trip, accommodation booking, dive package, or experience after the applicable service has commenced, the unused portion will not automatically qualify for a refund.

Ferry cancellations or postponements due to unfavourable weather conditions are possible. If the ferry provider issues a refund, silverfin scuba passes it on to you. If they don’t, we are unable to either.

Missed ferries due to flight delays or any other reasons are treated as a No Show by ferry service providers — strictly no refund is provided. Rescheduling may be possible on the basis of availability, at a minimal charge. We will always work toward the next best solution to get you to your destination.

15th Dec to 20th Jan is a peak season and no refunds are applicable on any services.

Any exception will be considered according to the circumstances, the applicable booking terms, and any costs already incurred.

15. Customer Agreement

By making a booking, paying an advance or deposit, purchasing a service, enrolling in a course, or participating in an activity with Silverfin Scuba, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Refund, Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy.

This Policy should be read together with Silverfin Scuba's other applicable terms, including its:

  • Terms & Conditions;

  • Website Disclaimer;

  • Privacy Policy;

  • Cookie Policy;

  • Any course-specific or activity-specific terms communicated to you.

Where a specific booking confirmation contains cancellation conditions that expressly differ from this general Policy, the conditions communicated for that particular booking will apply.

16. Changes to This Policy

Silverfin Scuba may revise this Refund, Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy from time to time to reflect changes in its services, operational requirements, payment arrangements, legal requirements, or business practices.

The current version will be published on the Silverfin Scuba Website with the applicable “Last Updated” date.

Customers are encouraged to review the Policy before making a booking.
